THE CAREER READINESS SCORE

One number, and you can check our working.

A weighted blend of nine measured components, computed in the backend. Three properties that most tools in this category cannot claim at all.

01

It is arithmetic, not an opinion

Nine measured components, weighted and computed in the backend. Run it twice on the same evidence and you get the same number. No language model decides whether a student is employable.

02

It can go down

Reassessment is bidirectional. Pass a knowledge check, then fail the retest in that area, and the uplift is taken back. A score that only ever rises is a score nobody should trust.

03

It explains its own movement

Every change is logged with a plain-language reason derived from the component difference. Students see their journey. Administrators see the full breakdown.

WHAT WE SOLVE

The shared readiness gap

Students and Institutions are chasing the same outcome, but neither can see how close they are. The student feels the gap every day; the institution only measures it after placements are decided.

THE STUDENT

Knows the broad field, but not which skills are missing, which role fits or what to do next.

More study material does not resolve this. Students need a clear next step.

THE SHARED
READINESS GAP
THE PLACEMENT HEAD

Needs to know who is ready, who is at risk and where support is needed.

Instead, decisions rely on past outcomes and the students who come forward.

THE SHARED SOLUTION

One current view of student readiness, shared by both sides, built to move placement outcomes.

HOW IT WORKS

One platform. Two experiences. One journey.

Every step a student takes shows up on the institution's dashboards automatically: the same numbers, at two altitudes. Nobody fills in a form to keep the other side current.

STUDENT
Drop in a resume or follow a short guided flow: a complete, editable profile in two to three minutes.
INSTITUTION
Bulk-invite whole cohorts by email or CSV, connect SSO, and watch the onboarding funnel fill as students complete it.
FEATURE HIGHLIGHTS

Features that work both sides of the journey.

From Dean-level reporting to student-level planning, SkillDrift connects institutional strategy to individual outcomes.

FOR STUDENTS

A sequence, not more content.

A profile in two to three minutes
Drop in a resume and review what was extracted, or follow a short guided form.
One assessment, eight dimensions
Cognitive, communication, technical, execution, initiative, learning agility, career orientation, resilience.
A career report they can act on
Readiness ring, clickable radar, ranked real roles with honest watch-outs.
Gap analysis per target role
Current against required, every skill sized and prioritised, then a roadmap built from it.
Jobs scored on their real profile
Live openings matched on the profile, not keywords. Any pasted job description scored the same way.
Interview practice with a verdict
Text, voice and live practice, ending in a coaching report with a hire verdict out of 10.
FOR INSTITUTIONS

Every cohort, measured, with names attached.

Cohort heatmaps
Built from assessment scores with no AI in the path. Click a cell and it names the students behind the colour.
A pipeline that fills itself
Three of five stages derive from measured readiness. Staff manage only Interviewing and Placed.
Students at risk, by name
Not a percentage. The list of students who need help, while there is still time to act.
Curriculum drift
Which departments are teaching away from what employers are hiring for, quantified per course.
Employer demand pulse
Which functions are hiring, which sectors are pulling, which skills each department's market asks for.
Board-ready reporting
Department scorecards and placement analytics, exportable, built for an accreditation file.
HOW THE INTELLIGENCE WORKS

The score is not an AI opinion. That is deliberate.

AI does a lot of work in SkillDrift. What it does not do is decide the number your institution makes decisions on.

Where AI works

  • Situational scenario generation, built around a student's own background
  • Voice assessment analysis
  • The career report narrative, and career matching
  • Learning roadmaps and podcast episodes
  • Job-fit scoring, including any description a student pastes in
  • Interview simulation and the coaching report

Where it is deliberately kept out

  • The Career Readiness Score, which is arithmetic across nine weighted components
  • The reason a score moved, which comes from the component difference
  • Cohort heatmaps, so any cell traces back to a real response
  • Situational scoring, pinned to option weights fixed at generation time
  • Every figure in the Command Center. The model receives anonymised aggregates and writes interpretation only

Every AI call is metered and attributed, by activity, by model and by student, with a full ledger. Your AI spend is a line item you can read, not a mystery in the invoice.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Questions institutions ask us

How the score is computed, how rollout works, what happens to student data, which systems it connects to, and what it costs.

How is the Career Readiness Score calculated?

It is a weighted blend of nine measured components, computed in the backend: skill assessment, experience and evidence, situational scenarios, career alignment, voice, academic record, written reflections, supporting documents and engagement quality. The weighting is our own calibration and we do not publish it, but we walk procurement committees through the full model under NDA, and your institution can tune the weighting on top of it. What matters for trust is the property, not the numbers: it is arithmetic rather than a language model’s judgement, so running it twice on the same evidence gives the same number.

Can the score go down?

Yes, and this is deliberate. Reassessment is adaptive and bidirectional. It targets a student’s weakest prior dimensions and spot-checks areas they were previously strong in. If they fail a retest in an area they had been credited for, the credit is taken back. A score that can only rise is a score nobody should make decisions on.

Is this an assessment platform or a skills test?

No. The assessment is one early step. What follows it is the product: career matching, gap analysis against a target role, learning roadmaps that are verified rather than self-ticked, live job matching, interview practice with a coaching report, and resume work. SkillDrift is also not a resume builder.

How does this connect to the systems we already run?

Single sign-on over SAML 2.0 or OIDC, including Google and Microsoft. LMS integration over LTI 1.3 into Moodle, Canvas and Blackboard. Student information and ERP integration with SAP Campus and Oracle PeopleSoft. Placement CRM sync with Salesforce and HubSpot. Live market openings arrive over an API feed. You can also bulk-invite by email or CSV and skip integration entirely for a pilot.

Where does student data live, and who can see it?

Each institution runs on its own subdomain with its own isolated database. Every request resolves to one institution before it touches any data. Access is role-based and enforced at the API rather than hidden in the interface, with super admin, admin and manager tiers plus custom roles you define. There is a complete audit trail, including an automatic record of every mutating administrative request. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and residency and retention are configurable.

Where is AI used, and where is it not?

AI generates situational questions around a student’s own background, analyses voice, writes the career report narrative, matches careers, builds learning roadmaps, scores job fit, runs interview practice and writes coaching reports. It does not compute the Career Readiness Score, which is arithmetic. It does not write the reason a score moved, which comes from the component difference. It is not in the path of the cohort heatmaps, so any cell traces back to real responses. In the Command Center it receives anonymised aggregates only and writes interpretation, and no figure on that page is model-generated. Every AI call is metered and attributed by activity, model and student, with a full ledger.
